Genesis 2:2-3
Words cant truly describe the depth of poverty & disease in Haiti. One may ask, "How can God let such terrible things happen?" It is in that time that we as humans are tested. To live without water or electricity is not even a thought for some of us, yet thousands of children live their whole lives in such circumstances. To have the ability to afford a soda & snack daily is common nature for some of us, yet many cant even save $2 in a month period just to receive life-saving medical care at a little clinic in Creve.

A team of Christians set out on a medical mission to Haiti in 2005. In a one-week period, 537 patients were seen & treated. The clinic has no running water or electricity & each patient must pay 2 Haitian dollars to be seen at the clinic in order to keep the clinic open. Most of the illnesses are directly attributable to malnutrition & lack of clean water. Most people manually haul water at least 1 mile up the mountain. To see the pain but hear no cries is a memory that many will never forget. These people need help!
The statistics are heartbreaking. There is currently a 90%-95% unemployment rate in Haiti. The illiteracy rate is 80% of adults. Imagine having children & not being able to earn enough money to feed them & knowing that without an education, they too will also be a statistical predicament. The cycle is ongoing but 1 by 1 is slowly changing.
It only takes $15 for 1 young student to be educated for a whole month. This includes supplies and 1 meal a day, which is generally the only meal that child will eat for the entire day. It takes $20 for a high school student per month for tuition & supplies. However at this time there is not enough food for them so the little children are fed first.
By educating the children, families benefit also. The children literally educate their family, so for each child a whole family benefits. The cost per person is even less.
In partnership with exclusive art dealers, as an artist, I feel it is a calling to send out this message & to contribute to helping these people. You have taken a great step in donating your money to them & this cross is merely a daily reminder of our blessings & of those God calls us to help.
Know this every dollar that you pay is directly sent to Haiti, not a portion, as I feel a portion is not enough. Thank you for your compassion & faith that these people may have better lives because of YOU.
If you feel it is your calling to help them further, here is some information that will help. Please pass it on. Churches can contact Francois to set up a Sponsorship program in their church. They will receive a set of photographs of the children who need sponsors. Children may be sponsored specifically.

Building cisterns for water
Buying medicines for the medical clinic

A Childs Prayer
God make my life a little light,
Within the world to glow;
A tiny flame that burneth bright
Wherever I may go.
God make my life a little flower,
That giveth joy to all,
Content to bloom in native bower,
Although its place be small.
God make my life a little song,
That comforteth the sad;
That helpeth others to be strong,
And makes the singer glad.
God make my life a little staff,
Whereon the weak may rest,
That so what health and strength I have
May serve my neighbors best.
